Week 1 -Humpty Dumpty
This week we started to get back into our routine by visiting Birkdale drive park.
We had lots of fun in Attention everyone and watched the water beads bounce all around. We then made our own humpty dumpty's and watched them fall off the wall.
We had our sensory massage story and then used number cards to count in maths. We also found humpty dumpty hidden in various places. We have started our "Lets sing a song " display in classroom and we are going to add to it each week.
We also looked at different cooked eggs and what happens in science.
We also used the toaster and made toast in cookery.
Week 2 Hickory Dickory Dock
This week we enjoyed finding the mouse hidden everywhere in our Attention Everyone sessions. We also had to splat the shaving foam mouse which made lots of mess but was great fun! We did our sensory massage story. This week we had our first Foundation of Light PE session and we all completed a obstacle course. We have been developing our display in the classroom by adding lots of clocks.
We have moved onto Unit 5 charanga and have loved searching for musical instruments in the feely bag. We have been getting better at using our PECS to say which nursery rhyme we want to sing with an adult.
We have continued with our sensory dance this half term and we are beginning to independently recognise the routine.
Week 3 Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
This week we visited the ground floor of the Hancock Museum to practise our life skills and to see what animals we could see that links to our songs that we have been singing in class.
In Attention Everyone we all decorated a star name picture.
We have been doing our sensory massage story-"Twinkle Twinkle".
We have been searching for stars and counting stars.
We have been continuing with our write dance and sensory dance.
Week 4- Incy Wincy Spider
This week we visited the Hancock museum and went upstairs. The children were really well behaved and enjoyed singing songs linked to animals that they could see.
We had Attention Everyone and we did our song with role play and props the children loved watching the water and the spiders.
We did an obstacle course with the Sunderland Footballers. We are becoming alot more confident and independant with this.
We did write dance using different mediums.
We visited the discovery park to find the hidden spiders.
Week 5- Baa Baa Black Sheep
We visited Matalan this week to learn all about visiting shops and not buying anything.
We completed our nursery rhyme massage story and had fun doing an obstacle course with the foundation of light for PE.
We have been doing "Up and down" movements in write dance.
We explored the discovery park however we didn't see any sheep.
In cookery this week we made our very own sheep and it was lovely and tasty.
Week 6-The Wheels On the Bus
This week we had our final visit to the matalan store to learn all about it being ok to not buy something and to walk around a shop.
We did an Attention Everyone session and moved vehicles through paint to create marks and then using different shapes we made a bus.
We had our final SAFC visit and we completed an obstacle course.
We did a great job with our write dance making big and small circles.
We visited the sensory room for intensive interaction and had our final tacpac 3 session.
We also enjoyed sensory dance.
Have a lovely half term and next half term we will be looking at the topic "Let's Eat" which will entail the sensory story "The very Hungry Caterpillar" and "Don't stick your finger in the jelly nelly" along with easter.
