Spring 1
This term we are focusing on Space. We will be listening to the stories Whatever Next, Alien's Love Underpants and There's an Alien in your Book. We will use props to help us fully engage with each story. We will use communication boards and PECS to request items that are motivating to us. We will take part in sensology sessions using our senses to investigates items that relate to space. We will spend time in the Hedgehog Hideaway and Light & Sound room to engage in intensive interaction sessions and to help us with our turn-taking skills. We will be making crispy cakes in cookery and observing the changes that happen. We will be building rocket ships using blocks, developing out counting skills with aliens and playing lots of matching games. We can't wait to have lots of fun :-)
Week 1 and 2 - Whatever Next
Over the last weeks w have enjoyed listening to the Story 'Whatever Next' and the massage song ''Going on a Rocket Ship". We have used communication and symbols to request items that we are motivated by and have enjoyed exploring them. We have used our senses to investigate props linked to space such as a rocket ship, a squeeky alien, bath bomb planets and light up flying saucers. We have made crispy cakes in cookery and started to take part in yoga sessions during PE as well as following a simple obstacle course. We have been on a trip to Springwell Village Park and loved taking turns on the zip wire. We have built rockets with blocks and thoroughly enjoyed knocking them down.
