Football Week February 2022
We had great fun during our annual Football Week again this week.
Columbia Grange took part in the event lead by the ESFA (English Schools Football Association)

How did we get involved this year?
We took part in an obstacle course where we had to kick the ball and throw bean bags. We also offered sensory experience to our pupils by providing them with new plush footballs. They explored and manipulated the football while playing parachute games.
We also encourage them to dance, sing and cheer to their team while singing popular football songs.
Each class planned extra activities according to the skills, abilities and strengths of the pupils.
Some classes also had the great opportunity to have a taster session of hand ball with coach Marlen, as part of the
'Try Handball with Vikings' project.
The Newcastle Vikings Handball Club offered Key Stage 2 pupils a chance to try handball as part of the project in order to develop handball among young children in Sunderland, and to attract new young players to sessions offered at Farringdon Community High School.
We had a great time and were all really good at it.
