KIDSAFE UK
We are proud to share that we now have two members of staff in school trained in delivering the KIDSAFE Children's Programme.
The programme is aimed to equip children with effective skills to keep themselves safe from various forms of child protection issues without shattering their innocence.
By the end of the six session programme the participating children will be taught to understand major risks to their safety, including the internet.
During the sessions children will cover subjects such as ..
- Keeping themselves safe
- Trust and trusted grown-ups, how to identify trusted grown-ups
- Explore feelings and the effects of these feelings
- Explore strategies to deal with bullying
- Using their voice as an effective tool to keep safe
- Keeping safe when using the internet and computer games with age ratings
- Keeping safe when watching TV and DVD's understanding the 9 p.m. watershed
- Kidsafe rules about keeping private places safe
- Inappropriate touch and when its okay for people to see private places
The trained facilitators are able to differentiate the programme enabling small group delivery or through personalised pathways.
It is enjoyable in providing lively interactions with the adult leading.
It motivates pupils with lots of questions, getting children to say what they know and can do - promoting self-confidence.
