Football week
Schools’ Football Week, is an ESFA (Education and skills funding) initiative. It is designed to highlight the huge scale of Schools’ Football in England but also as an opportunity for schools, teams and clubs from across the country to showcase the talent of their pupils, dedication of their teachers and coaches and the benefits that playing school’s football brings to their school or association.
Schools’ Football Week featured in a special event on Wednesday 26 May, where schools from across England were invited to play Covid-safe matches and tournaments within their school environment – creating the ‘world’s biggest football match’!
Columbia Grange wanted to take part in this event and each class teacher organised different activities all throughout the week.
We had a Football circuit in the Big hall on Monday and Tuesday.
We also decorated some biscuits, football tops and trophies.
Some classes watch songs, stories and football matches on their big screens in the classroom.
